His obituary reads as follows:
BLACKBURN. At residence, No. 1336 Santa Monica avenue (sic), July 5, 1910, Elihue Meritt Blackburn, aged 51 years.
Funeral services will be held at chapel of Bresee Brothers, 855 South Figueroa street (sic), at 10 a.m., Thursday. Friends invited.
