Actor. Born Thomas Wright Thornburg King, he had early aspirations of becoming an actor and studied at the St. Louis School of Theatre. During World War II, he was stationed in the South Pacific with the United States Navy and following his return home, with the aid of the G.I. Bill, he enrolled at the Actors Studio and the American Theatre Wing. He began his career in television with an episode of the program "Captain Video and His Video Rangers" (1950) and had his first featured role in the series "Johnny Jupiter" (1953 to 1954). King will perhaps be remembered for playing 'Jason Nichols', opposite Steve McQueen, during the last season of "Wanted: Dead or Alive." (1959 to 1960). He would go on to appear on such popular programs as "The Twilight Zone", "Perry Mason" and "Gunsmoke." His film credits include "Cast a Long Shadow" (1959), "King Rat" (1965), "Planet of the Apes" (1968) and " Finian's Rainbow" (1968).
