CLOVIS, N.M. - Tita Casillas "Auntie Nina" Acevedo, 91, died Sunday, May 20, 2007.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the church with the Rev. Sotero Sena officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens by Muffley Funeral Home.
Mr. Acevedo was born Jan. 19, 1916, in Los Hornos, Mexico, to Librado Casillas and Frances Huerta Casillas. She married Anastacio Acevedo on Sept. 13, 1952, in Clovis.
Survivors include two brothers, Richard Casillas of Santa Fe and Fred Casillas of Farwell, Texas; and six sisters, Josie Shelly and Mary Mendoza, both of Clovis, Lupe Defriese of Magnolia, Texas, Marcella Grek of Mexico City and Carla Lende of Valley City, N.D.
The family suggests memorials be to St. Vincent De Paul, in care of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 108 N. Davis, Clovis, NM 88101.
