Obituary from The Topeka Capital Journal 06 Apr 2005 Pg 3B Mass of Christian Burial for Mildred A. Magnett, 89, Lillis, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 8, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lillis. Father Arul Carasala will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Blaine.Mrs Magnett died Monday, April 4, 2005, at Westy Community Care Home in Westmoreland. She was a lifelong resident of the area.She was born Oct. 9, 1915, on a farm south of Lillis, the daughter of Albert and Anna Runnebaum Roggenkamp, one of nine children. She attended local schools.Mildred married Joseph R. Magnett on Feb. 7, 1942, in Manning, La. He preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1990.She was a homemaker most of her adult life. She also worked at Pyramid Sewing Factory in Onaga from 1973 until 1980 and then Frankfort Community Care Home from 1980 until 1987.She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Altar Society at the church.She is survived by a daughter, Donna Schlarman and her husband, Eldon, Topeka; five sons, Robert Magnett and his wife, Wanda, Blaine, Roger Magnett and his wife Susan, Wheaton, Mark Magnett and his wife, Karra Lee, Kansas City, Mo., and Charlie Magnett and his wife Sherri, Omaha, Neb.; three sisters, Lorena Lefebvre, Havensville, Luella Enneking, Seneca, and Joan O'Shea, Oskaloosa; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.A grandson, Kent Magnett, preceded her in death on July 6, 1990.Mrs. Magnett will lie in state from 2 until 5 p.m. Thursday at Kufahl Funeral Home in Wheaton and from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lillis, where a rosary prayer service will be at 6 p.m. The family will greet friends following the rosary.The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Joseph's Catholic Church of the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery Fund and those may be sent in care of Kufahl Funeral Home, 307 Center St., Wheaton, Kan. 66521.
