Wife of James Quinn.
Winifred Nolan was born in Killeroran, Ballygar, County Galway (bordering County Roscommon), Ireland to Peter Nolan (abt. 1820-abt. 1860) and Mary Logan (1813-1878).
She was the 3rd of 4 girls:
~ Mary Nolan (abt. 1841-abt. 1937) married Daniel Coleman stayed in Ireland.
~ Ellen Nolan (1844-1915) married William Stroker in Connecticut.
~ Margaret Nolan (1850-1918) married Benjamin Ball in Salisbury, Connecticut.
Winifred immigrated to the USA on June 24th in 1862 traveling on the ship "The Escort" from Liverpool. She went to Great Barrington, Massachusetts, to her Aunt Catherine Nolan Norton's. Aunt Catherine was Winifred's father's (Peter Nolan's) sister, who had immigrated and was married to Patrick Norton.
James Quinn and "Winny" Nolan were married 20 February 1870 in Lee, Massachusetts. She eventually settled in North Canaan, Connecticut. Winifred and James had 3 girls and 3 boys:
