Kent Beckstrom Whitney, age 47, died peacefully in his sleep April 10, 1999.
He was born June 21, 1951 in Lovell, Wyoming, to George T. and Elisabeth Strom Whitney. Kent was proud of his children and wife and loved them dearly.Served in the Navy and was a graduate of Nuclear Power School. Graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in Business in 1986. He enjoyed music, telling stories and being with friends and family. He was director of Facilities at Hansen Planetarium and said he had found the job of his dreams. He served in many positions in the LDS Church and was currently serving as Mission Leader when he was called on his final mission.
Survived by wife, Marilyn; their children, Taggart, Randy and Skylar; his daughter, Michelle. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Annette Jean Whitney.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 12 noon, at Bennion Heights 1st Ward, 6030 South Prairie View Drive (3500 West). Friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Saturday at the Church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment: West Jordan City Cemetery.
