Marlene M. Lux, 79 years, of North Bend, NE passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, NE.

Marlene was born December 10, 1938 to Frank and Wilma (Semrad) Dlouhy in North Bend.

She was a graduate of North Bend Central High School and received her teaching certificate from Wayne State College. She was a teacher at Dodge County Rural Schools for two years and taught dance for five years. She also worked at Le Tanne’ Health and Diet in Fremont for eight years and the North Bend golf course for thirteen years. She was a bookkeeper for Lux Sand and Gravel Company.

On May 17, 1958, Marlene married Dean T. Lux at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in North Bend.

Marlene was a member of St. Charles, St. Annes Altar Society. Christian Mothers, past officer of NBVFD Auxiliary, past president of the Nebraska Firefighter Association Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Thomas Dean Lux; great-granddaughter, Keeley Settles; and nephew, Paul Chudomelka.

She is survived by her husband, Dean; son, Dean (Karen) Lux of North Bend; daughters, Susan (Mike) Wakefield of Kennard, NE, Amy (Steve) Settles of North Bend, Peggy (Gary Preister) Babcock of Elkhorn, NE; sister, Shirley (Tom) Mensik of Omaha, NE; 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in North Bend, NE. Fr. Keith Rezac will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Church. A rosary will start at 7 P.M.

Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend, NE
