Born in Kingston, Jamaica he began his career at the age of nine and released his first songs at the age of twelve with the recordings of "No Man is an Island" and "If I Follow my Heart". His biggest hit followed a few years later with the release of "Money in my Pocket". During his thirty year career the reggae star released over seventy albums. Tragically his career was cut short when he died from complications caused by pneumonia. Over ten thousand mourners attended his funeral and he became the first entertainer to be buried in Kingston's National Heroes Park. (bio by: Bigwoo)
