|Susan E. Yerion VanDyke|
Susanna was the 1st of 10 children of Joseph Yerion and Permelia Clark.
She came with her family from Virginia to Illinois about 1847-1848, and is listed at home in Peoria County in 1850, age 17 (spelled "Yearning").
She married on January 31, 1856, Peoria County, Illinois, to Abram B. VanDyke (Abram may be a transcription error for Alva).
The 1860 census of Peoria County lists them as Alva and Susan Vandike with 3 children.
A. B. VanDyke (known to be Alva B.) appears in Montgomery County, Kansas, in 1885, apparently with a 2nd wife named Adeline. His son, Edwin, also is found in Montgomery County, Kansas, in 1900.
Alva was born about 1831 in New York. In the Civil War he served in Company "E", 96th Illinois Infantry.
