Mrs. Andrew Beiter
(Andrew 'Andreas' Beiter's wife)
The death of Mrs. Andrew Beiter of Swormville, coming so suddenly, was a great sorrow to her large family and circle of friends. In her home she was untiring in her devotion to her family, while as friend and neighbor she was ever ready to assist and comfort. Her passing away on this account makes it all the harder to bear and the sympathy of the community goes out to the afflicted ones. Death, caused by valvular disease of the heart, came very suddenly on Friday, Feb. 14, 1913, claiming her at the age of 74 years.
The deceased, whose maiden name was Fritton, was born in Germany, coming with her parents to this country, direct to Swormville, at the age of 11 years, living there since that time. She married Andrew Beiter and a half century of happy married life was granted them. Thirteen children came to bless their union, two having died in infancy and one daughter about seven years ago. To mourn the loss of a loving wife and mother are her husband and ten children, Casper, George, Joseph, Alois, and Leo Beiter, Mrs. Michael Hebeler, Mrs. Frank Donner, Mrs. Martin Blum, Mrs. Jacob Mangold and Mrs. Michael Popp, also 42 grand-children.
There were many in attendance at the funeral held Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Mary's church, Swormville, Rev. Veit officiating. St. Anne's Society, of which the deceased was a member, attended in a body. Six grand-sons, Andrew, Richard, Leonard and Rainer Hebeler and Vincent and Lawrence Beiter bore the remains to their resting place in the Catholic cemetery, while the flower bearer was a grand-son, Leander Donner.
