The birth date in his obituary differs from census records. He appears with his family in the 1850 census of Washington Township, Kosciusko County, Indiana, under 1 year, and in the same township in 1860, age 9. In 1870, in Bourbon Township, Marshall County, Indiana, he was age 20.
He married about 1900 to Laura M. (surname unknown) born July 1873.
They appear in the 1900 and 1910 census of North Township, Marshall County, Indiana. Peter's birth in the 1900 census is given as October, 1852. He is age 58 in 1910.
