Verna was a full blooded Potawatomi Indian.Her parents were Gilbert and Melvina Shegonee.She was the wife to jose for over 50 years.A mother to 5 children.Loving Grandmother to 9 .And a special Great-grandmother to 17.Verna was a housewife for many years.She was also a factory worker in chicago.When i was growing up Verna always made me feel like i was a member of her family.She was a very special neighbor to the MCKINLEY'S .We loved her fried indian bread.She will be missed by many.Verna resting place is in her family (Potawatomi)burial grounds.
