Death: Sep. 27, 1931

Son of Ephraim and Rose Ellen King Hatch.

Husband of Jane Ann Albrand.

Parley E. Hatch, at one time, a prominent brick manufacturer, died Sunday at the home of his son, Zenos Hatch in Bountiful. A few days before, he suffered a paralytic stroke from which he never recoved.

Some forty years ago, he operated an extensive brick manufacturing plant in South Bountiful and employed a good many men. It was not an uncommon thing to see one or two kiln of brick being burned and a number of cars on the spur being loaded with brick to be shipped away. He operated a store near the plant for the convenience of those working at his brickyard, then came the age of fast producing brick machinery which glutted the brick market and the industry here died.

After he quit the brick manufacturing business, Mr. Hatch did quite an extensive ranching business in Deeth, Nevada.

He was the son of Ephraim and Rose Ellen Hatch, early settlers of South Bountiful, where he was born and lived all his life except ten years he resided in Nevada.

He married Jane Ann Albrand on March 31, 1887. She died some fifteen months ago and a daughter, Mrs. Irintha Mills, passed away, a year ago. One son, P.Z. Hatch, survives.

Funeral services were held Tuesday in the South Bountiful chapel with Bishop Ezra T. Hatch officiating.

Musical numbers were furnished by a double mixed trio, Bertha Sessions and Charles Taylor. Speakers were, former Bishop S.C. Howard and John Q. Adams, who recently returned from the Hawaiian Islands. Opening prayer was offered by Stearns Hatch, benediction by Thomas Hatch. The grave in the Bountiful cemetery was dedicated by Jesse M. Smith.
