Irma was born at the family's old home place in Jasper, Texas, which is designated in the Texas Family Land Heritage Program as a Century Farm.
She worked for Henke & Pilot as a checker, and retired from Kroger after twenty five years of service. She then enjoyed traveling, working in her yard and growing Christmas Cactus. Due to illness she became a resident in the Hotel Beaumont where she volunteered with clerical duties. Irma was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School for many years to the young children. She also enjoyed her time spent with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Parker Sr., and husband W.E. Brauninger, her brothers Hoy McLemore, Earl McLemore, J.W. McLemore, and Tommie McLemore, sister Elsie Gilley, daughter Margaret Anne Parker McWilliams/McCullough and son Lamar Augustus Parker.
Survivors include her son Joe Parker Jr., step-sons Bill Brauninger and Butch Brauninger, step-daughters Judy Fulton and Sandra Lewis; grandchildren Carol Ann Parfait, Cheryl Kay Parker Biddy, James Roy McWilliams, Carolyn Worthey and Kimberly Miller; great-grandchildren Ricky Segrest, Roger Segrest, Cicilia Marsh, Derek McWilliams, Michelle McWilliams, Blake Worthey, Danielle Miller, Britney Miller, brothers Bobbie McLemore and John D. McLemore, sister Marie Hicks.
