Married only once, to our mother on May 2, 1942, he was a family man, a loyal husband and father, who loved his family more than anything else in the world, always there for us and never let us down.
NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS IN OUR HOUSEHOLD!!!
Men like this are hard to come by, my mother was so lucky to have him, and us kids were especially lucky and blessed to have him as our father, but more than that, he wasn't only a father figure, he was our DAD, he helped us in any way he could, did things with us, took us places, bought us gifts, protected us from harm, gave us all of his everlasting love, and yes, even yelled, and hollered at us when we needed and deserved it. He was a great man, son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, and friend. I can't even begin to name the people that lived with us that he took in under his wing, some family, some not, he didn't care, he still took them in and they lived with us for as long as they wanted. The more, the merrier, was his philosophy.
He lost the love of his life on February 5, 1974, and never re-married.
He was a hard worker who worked every day of his life for his family until he retired after about 37 years with the same company, only able to enjoy his retirement for one short year before he passed away after losing a battle with lung cancer. (I was only 26)
He would give the shirt off his back to a complete stranger, and help anyone in need to the best of his ability. (God bless you DAD)
Dad, you were, and always will be my hero, you're always on my mind, and forever in my heart, as I am not only speaking for myself, but for Peggy, Tony, and Johnny also, as well as all of your grandchildren too. I think about you and mom everyday, you both are missed very much, we love you both, and may the grace of God let you both rest in heavenly peace for all eternity!
With all my love, your loving youngest daughter,
P.S. Much love, hugs & kisses to you Dad!
