Son of William Clarence Childers & Maria Boots; he had the following siblings: Daniel b. 1846, James A. b. 12 Mar 1837, Robert A. b. 1840, Louis b. 1848, and Josephine b. 1850.

He married in 1862 (1) Sophia Medford or Milford; they had the following children: Ellis Buffentan b. 10 Jan 1865, Anderson John Hawlin b. 31 Aug 1869; Cooie Van b. 7 Sep 1871, & James E. b. 25 Sep 1874.

He married (2) Susan K. Micco b. 1885 (buried at this cem.).
