Sigrid “Siggy” Christensen, 92, of Blair, died Friday, April 5, 2013.

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, April 13, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. There will be no visitation. She donated her body to the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Sigrid "Siggy" Christensen was born June 14, 1920, in Denmark to Carl and Kirsten (Moller) Christensen. She came to the United States with her family when she was 9 years old and they settled in the Chicago area.

She graduated from Kelvin Park High School, then went to Dana College in Blair for two years before returning to Chicago and working in the office of the Schwinn Bicycle Company.

She returned to Dana in 1946 as secretary to the president when Dr. Morton became president. She continued to work at Dana in the business office for 35 years. She also earned a degree in business administration from Dana in 1960.

She retired in 1981 and continued to live in Blair. She lived at Johansen Manor for 17 years, then the last nine years at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.

She is survived by a brother, Ken Christensen, of Chicago.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Hanson of Houston, Texas, and Marge Christensen of Chicago.

Memorials are suggested to the First Lutheran Church in Blair.
