Daughter of James Campbell & Sophiah Downing Wife of Joseph George Amos (Married 18 SEPT 1854)
Russellville Rustler 09 OCT 1909 Mrs. Melvina Amos, age 73 years, died at her home at Orla, Mo., last Sunday (Oct. 3, 1909) after an illness of a little over two weeks, caused by a fall down the stairs, which fractured her knee cap and injured her internally. The remains were shipped to Russellville Wednesday morning and interred in the Cammpbell cemetery two and one half miles south of Russellville amid a large crowd of sorrowing friends and relatives. Deceased was born in Kentucky in 1836 and moved to Cole County in 1837. She was married to Joseph Amos in the year of 1854. She was the youngest daughter of J. W. Campbell. For many years she lived near Millbrook and until about three years ago made this county her home. Three children are left to mourn the loss of a dear mother, J. W. of Orla, A. C. of Purvis and Mrs. Frank Glover of Russellville. Deceased will be remembered by many of our older citizens of the county. Her death will be mourned by her many friends and relatives.
