Fred Gnuse, who grew up in this community, but for the past 25 years was a resident of Altoona, died at a Kansas City hospital on Friday, Nov. 22. The direct cause of his death could perhaps be attributed to a stroke of apoplexy, received several years ago and from the effects of which he did not fully recover. The funeral services were conducted fro the home of his sister, the only surviving relative, Mrs. Henry Strenger, at Telbasta on Monday afternoon, and the remains were laid to rest beside those of this parents in the Telbasta Cemetery. Rev. Kersten, of the Evangelical Church was the officiating clergyman.
