DEATH OF DANIEL JORDAN. - Daniel Jordan of Columbus died suddenly from heart disease or apoplexy on the night of May 28th. He had retired, when Mrs. Jordan was aroused by a peculiar breathing of her husband. She spoke to him and he could not answer. She then hastily carried him to the door for fresh air, but he was dead. Our Columbus correspondent gives some additional details of the life of Mr. Jordan. The late Daniel Jordan was born in Cabington, England, December 12, 1840. When 21 years of age he went to Australia. There he stayed until 1870 when he came to San Fransisco. He came to Klickitat in 1871. In 1873 he purchased his present place near Columbus, where he has since resided.
February 11, 1877, Mr. Jordan married Mrs. Sarah E. Busey. There was one daughter born from this union, Nettie E. Jordan. There are besides two stepsons, William W. and Henry C. Busey and one adopted son, Paul Lester Jordan. Mr. Jordan was a member of the Methodist church of Fruit Flat. He was an honest, upright man, beloved by all who knew him; a tender husband and a kind father. He was a leader of all religious and political work in his community. "So passeth the noblest of this earth." Mr. Jordan at the time of his death was aged 64 years, 5 months and 12 days.
