| Birth: | Aug. 8, 1963 | | Death: | Nov. 30, 2000 Oak Bluffs Dukes County Massachusetts, USA | Child Actor. Born in Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, he was eleven when he won the part of Mike Brody, son of the police chief played by Roy Scheider, when the film "Jaws" was made on the island in 1974. It was to be his only screen appearance. He graduated from Martha's Vineyard Regional High School in 1981 where he had excelled in varsity football, baseball, and basketball. He returned to his high school as a coach, working with the football program, leading his team to a place in the State Superbowl in the 2000 season. Three days before the game, he went hunting with friends when he collapsed after complaining of feeling ill. Attempts to revive him were futile and he was pronounced dead at the age of 37. His memorial service was held at The Sacred Heart Parish, Our Lady Star of the Sea Church and was attended by family, friends, and team members. Because of his popularity in the community, so many educators and students wanted to attend, the regional high school was closed for the day. (bio by: Iola)
