Eugene Arthur "Chip" Reid, 52, Neosho, Mo., died at 6:24 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at his home.

He was born July 21, 1954, in Ottawa, Kan., to John Albert Reid and Eunice (Workman) Reid.

Mr. Reid was a lifelong area resident. He was a mechanic for the McDonald County Road Dist. and a 14-year veteran of the U. S. Navy, where he was Chief Petty Officer.

He was a member of American Legion #163, in Neosho, Missouri.

Chip is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Anne Reid, Galveston, Texas; his mother, Eunice Reid, a brother, John Richard Reid, and a sister, Mary Gail Hathaway, all of Neosho.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Albert Reid and a brother, Gerald Lee Reid.

Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 16, at IOOF Cemetery, Neosho, with Dr. Jerry Seigel officiating.

Friends called at the funeral home Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
