Martha passed away prior to the opening of Union Cemetery so her remains were moved to Union from the Smart Family Cemetery on the northwest corner of 12th and Main, Kansas City, Missouri. Section 55 Lots 13 and 14 purchased by Thomas A Smart on 26 May 1868. Union Cemetery burial records were destroyed in a fire in 1889 so the record of Martha's burial is not available.
