Death: Apr. 7, 1879

Son of Bryant Bonner Sr. and Anna Harris. Reverend Bryant Bonner was the founder of Grassy Pond Church. Rev. Bonner was ordained to the ministry in 1855. Buried near him is his grandchild (Rosie Bonner) who was the first person buried in the Grassy Pond Cemetery. Rev. Bonner died before there was a cemetery for the church. He was buried in his garden, and his body was later reburied in the cemetery.

Original marker: Rev. B. Bonner. / Born / Feb. 4, 1817. / Died / April 7, 1879. / Aged 62 Years, 2 Mos. and 3 Days. He was a consistant member of the Baptist Church for about 40 years. And a successful Minister for about 25 years. Servant of God well done.

Note: About 15 years ago the church removed the original concrete covering and headstone from the grave and put a large granite slab over the grave.
