Hiram Yarian
Birth: Dec. 27, 1844
Columbiana County
Ohio, USA
Death: Jun. 18, 1912, USA

Hiram was the son of George Yarian and Mary May of Columbiana County, Ohio.
He married on November 4, 1869, Columbiana County, Ohio, to Violet Wetzel.
They are listed in the 1900 census of Unity Township, Columbiana County, Ohio, with 12 children at home (including 4 sets of twins), spelled "Yearian".
He was a farmer.

From "History of The Hiram Yarian Family" compiled in 1968:
Hiram Yarian was born in Unity Township Dec. 27, 1844. His boyhood was spent on his father' farm, who was one of the pioneer homesteaders, having been granted a parcel of land by the government.
Nov. 4, 1869, he married Violet Wetzel and went to housekeeping on the Eli Harmon farm about one mile north of Unity. They lived there three years and then bought a farm about two miles northeast of New Waterford, known as the Hugh Chain farm. He spent the remainder of his life on that farm, raising a family of fourteen children - 13 of whom lived to grow up. One died in infancy.
One unusual feature is the fact that there were four (4) sets of twins in this family.
Being an extreme admirer of horse flesh, he was particularly fond of fast horses, and was constantly buying and trading horses. Nothing brought him more joy than driving a nice buggy and a fast horse.
To accomodate his large family he purchased what was known in those days as a two-seated spring wagon. However as his family outgrew the capacity of this wagon, he was obliged to add an extra seat.
He was a member of the Brick Church about a mile from Unity, near the Columbiana-East Palestine Road, which at one time accomodated two denominations - Lutheran and Reformed. However, when the Zion Lutheran Church at New Waterford was formed, he became a charter member of that church, attended there the remainder of his life.
He died June 18, 1912, at the age of 67, and was buried in the New Waterford Cemetery.
