Death of General Banks' Widow
Waltham, Mass., Feb 1 -- Mrs Mary Palmer Banks, widow of the late ex-Governor and General Nathaniel P. Banks, died at the old homestead in this city last night of old age. Mrs. Banks was born in Charlestown 81 years ago. She came to Waltham when 12 years old and went to work in a cotton mill. She became acquainted with Mr. Banks when 17 years old, and married him when she was 28. They had four children, three surviving, Mrs. Sterling, Miss Maud Banks and Joseph Banks who is in New York.
