Geraldine met her future husband in Poughkeepsie, New York. With WWII on they married in Texas. When the War was over and Alanson’s service in the Air Force ended, they settled in Excelsior, MN where they raised three children Gary, Christine, and Susan. Geraldine and Alanson owned a very successful family business, Watts’ Homecraft, for many years. Here Alanson made frames for original art, prints, and photos. Geraldine (and the children) sold art supplies, unique gifts, and craft supplies. When they retired, Geraldine and Alanson moved to the Elk River area where they built a log house; later they moved within the city limits. Geraldine dedicated much of her time to volunteering within her community. She was a long- time and valuable member of Central Lutheran Church. Geraldine possessed a great regard for all of nature and the outdoors. She especially loved birds, flowers, and butterflies. Like the birds, flowers, and butterflies she brought happiness and light to all who met her. She leaves behind many friends and family members who mourn her absence. She leaves three children and their families, 7 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Geraldine believed that when words are both true and kind they can change the world. May all be free of sorrow and the causes of sorrow. Geraldine has gone home.
