| Birth: | Feb. 15, 1791 Danville Boyle County Kentucky, USA | | Death: | Feb. 7, 1873 Gallatin Sumner County Tennessee, USA |  U.S. Congressman, Judge. Elected as a Jacksonian Democrat to represent Kentucky's 7th District in the United States House of Representatives, he served from 1829 to 1831. A native of Kentucky, he was admitted to the bar and became an attorney in Stanford, Kentucky. He was a member of the Kentucky legislature in 1819, 1836, and 1837. After serving in Congress, he became a Kentucky Circuit Court Judge and served from 1836 to 1837. He resigned, resumed his practice of law, and also engaged in agricultural pursuits. He moved to Tennessee in 1870 and died there a few years later at his residence in 1873 when he was 82 years old.
