He was a pianist whose career spanned more than six decades. He is best known for such albums as "Point of Departure", and "Smoke Stack". Hill began his career during the early 1950s, recording and performing with such music legends as Miles Davis, Charlie "Bird" Parker and Coleman Hawkins. Some of his other notable albums include "Spiral", "Invitation" and "Divine Revelation". He died of lung cancer. (bio by: C.S.)
