Fourth child of Jefferson "Jep" Davis/David Wilkinson and Nancy Jane Cross.
He worked for a time in the sawmills in Hardin County and eventually joined the Beaumont Fire Department on 30 Mar 1929, was promoted to Battalion Chief (District Chief) 1 May 1960 and retired 31 Dec 1965.
He married Anna Dell Gardner, daughter of John Louis Gardner and Viola Lindsey. They had one child, Delores Marie Wilkinson.
