He was described as having sandy or auburn hair, fair complexion, blue eyes, 5 ft. 8 in tall. On June 28, 1865 he was transferred to Co. G 181st Ohio Infantry, rank: Private. In 1881, he applied for and was granted an invalid pension for an illness that continued after his discharge. In 1912, after his death, his widow, Rosamond was granted a widow's pension, $30 per month for life.
