LeNetta A. Bensen was born April 5, 1911, in Washington County to Herman and Adela (Brunkow) Gnuse. She attended St. Paul’s Lutheran and Bisbee Schools.

On Jan. 10, 1932, she married Albert Bensen. They were blessed with three children.

They farmed in the Orum, Nebraska area from 1932 until 1980, when Albert and LeNetta moved to Arlington, Nebraska.

Mrs. Bensen was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday School for 47 years, and for 40 years, she was the Sunday School superintendent.

She enjoyed yard work, especially working with her flowers. Her hands quilted blankets for many people.

Mrs. Bensen had lived at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair, Nebraska since 1998.

LeNetta A. Bensen, age 94 yrs, of Blair, Nebraska passed away peacefully on April 25, 2005, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jessie of Menan, Idaho, Jim and Susan of Blair, and Don and Karma of Highlands Ranch, Colo., eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marge Hilgenkamp of Arlington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert, in 1981; and a sister, Ada Wood.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 28, 2005, at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum. Interment was at the Orum Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Orum, or the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home.
