Mrs. Gladdie Robbins, a lifelong resident of Boylston, died Oct. 7, 1962. She was 89 and had been in failing health for several years. Her death occurred at the Evergreens Nursing home, Mannsville, where she spent the past year and a half.
She was born Jan. 6, 1873 in Boylston, the daughter of Daniel and Hannah Snyder Mead. She attended the Ormsby district school. Mar. 25, 1893 she married Frank Robbins of Lacona. Most of their life was spent on their farm on the Smartville Road. Mrs. Robbins was a member of the Boylston Wesleyan Methodist church. Formerly she was its organist, and for many years sang in its choir.
She leaves one son, Cyrus Mead Robbins, of R.D. 2, Lacona; two grandsons and seven great-grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.
The funeral service was held at 2 Wednesday afternoon at the Weston and Woodard funeral home, Rev. George Partington, pastor of the Boylston Wesleyan church, officiated. Burial was in Wesleyan cemetery, Lacona.
