Birth: Aug. 16, 1859
Death: Feb. 22, 1947

February 27, 1947

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock for Albert C. Binger, pioneer resident of Broken Bow, from the Methodist church with the Rev. F.L. Einel, pastor, officiating. Interment was made in the Denison cemetery, Idabel.

Mr. Binger passed away at the family home here Saturday night following an illness of several weeks duration.

He was born in Germany on August 16, 1859, and came to the United States with his mother in 1866. They settled in Wisconsin. In January, 1886, he married Miss Tilton of Prairieburg, Iowa. Rev. George E. Scott read the vows in the Methodist church of Monticello, Iowa. She passed away at the family home here three weeks and five days before his passing.

Mr. Binger was a construction millwright and in following his profession he resided in Nebraska, Iowa, Minnesota, Mississippi and Louisiana before coming to Broken Bow in 1911 at the opening of the Dierks Lumber Company mill here. For twenty years he was employed by that company before retiring in 1931. Following his retirement he was employed at the Continental Oil Company office which is operated by his son, Roy Binger. During the past few years advanced age and ill health prevented his former activities. He was a member of the Methodist church and Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are one son, Roy Binger, Broken Bow, daughter-in-law Mary V Hendrick Binger; one daughter, Mrs. J.W. Metcalf, Oklahoma City; one sister, Mrs. Ottie Lemonde, Detroit, Mich.; give grandchildren, Virginia Binger Craig, Kansas City; Roy Binger, Jr., Stillwater; Louise Binger of Broken Bow; and Ruth Nicholson and Lucille Kennebrew, Oklahoma City; and several great grandchildren.
