Gene Bohanan, 52, of Sevierville, went to meet Jesus on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

Gene has suffered from an illness for a couple years and now all his pain is gone. He is kicking up gold dust with his Lord, and having a great reunion with so many loved ones. Gene had such a generous heart, loved life, and always had a story or joke to tell. He was an active member of North Side Baptist Church. Gene worked for FedEx Freight in Knoxville for over 22 years. We all will miss our loved one so much, but will be with him again someday.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ray Bohanan; and his mother, Jennie Moody.

Gene is survived by his wife, Robin; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Jennifer Gray, Jason and Christina Gray, and their daughter, McKenzie Grace Gray, who was the light of his life; brothers and sisters, Jimmy and Pat Bohanan, Debby and Jim Bost, and Anna Baggs; his dear cousin and buddy, Betty Jo Evans, who was like a second mom to him; many nieces and nephews that he loved dearly; and a host of extended loving family members and friends.

The family wishes to express their sincerest appreciation to Pastor Joshua Sharp and his church family at Northside Baptist Church, his work family at FedEx, all the doctors, especially Dr. Gulati, nurses, and friends at UT Medical Center and UT Hospice, for all their prayers, support, and care that they have provided during his illness.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Keith Fox and Roger Seagle. Serving as Pallbearers are: Tommy Johnson, Rick Lawson, Steve Blair, Jimmy Bohanan, Mark Evans, and Randy Seagle.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Friday, April 27th with the funeral service to follow at 7 PM in Atchley’s Seymour Chapel. Pastor Joshua Sharp and Pastor Keith Fox will be officiating. Family and friends will leave at 10:30 AM Saturday from Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour to Seven Islands Cemetery for the graveside service and interment.

Arrangements by Atchley Funeral Home, 122 Peacock Court, Seymour, TN 37865.
