Revolutionary War
Died Dec 15, 1812, Age 51 years
During the siege of the War of 1812 in Buffalo, N.Y. Col. Harris's home (Bottom Left) was used as the headquarters of the regional newspaper.
I have been in Col. Harris' home, which was converted into a laundry on the lower floor. The home was part of the underground for black slaves heading North to freedom.

Asa's Parents were Asa Harris III and Faith McCall Harris. Faith McCall Harris is a direct descendant of the MAYFLOWER passengers JOHN & ELIZABETH TILLEY HOWLAND. Col. Harris's ancestors arrived in Boston, Massachusetts about 1640.
