Angelina was born Angeline Cox Leister on June 8, 1841 in Whitemarsh, Montgomery county, Pennsylvania. Her mother Mary Ann Leister is listed as the homeowner for 662 N. 8th St. (became 1208 N. 8th St. in the late 1850s when the City changed the street numbering system). Angeline's mother probably bought the house with inheritance money from her father John Cox who died in 1849.

On August 11, 1875 she remarried to William Moyer, bricklayer, at the Hedding Methodist Church at 653 N. 16th St. by Rev. Thomas R. Miller. Later records state that the marriage was officiated by the Rev. Francis E. Church.
In 1872, Moyer had been widowed from the death of his previous wife, Anna Maria Cox, half-sister of Angeline's mother Mary Cox.
