Bertha M. Embry, 96, of Plainfield, formerly of Memphis, TN, passed away April 10, 2007. She was born December 14, 1910 to the late Lucien and Daisy (Harris) Poynor in Pontotoc, MS. She was a homemaker and a member of the Belleville Church of Christ. While living in Memphis she participated in the Senior Olympics and did volunteer work for charitable organizations. She is survived by two daughters, Oneita Ward, and Cecilia Lukich; two sons, Hugh and Jimmy Jackson; a brother, Cecil Poynor; three sisters, Corine Murray, Cybil Price, and Charla Poynor; 11 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Embry.
