His first of two marriages was to Alice Bernice (Salls) on October 29, 1927 in Malone, Franklin, NY. They were the parents of Douglas P., Donald J., Betty Jean, Daniel James, and Richard Wayne Blair.

He later married Grace Anna (Sommers) on [January 29, 1945 or January 09, 1946] in Quincy, Adams, IL. They were the parents of Thomas H. and Robert E. Blair.

He died at the age of 75 in St. Mary Hospital, Quincy, IL. Survived by 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
