James E. Allen, CSM (US Army Retired) passed away in Tacoma, Washington, on March 22, 2007, after a short illness.

He was born April 15, 1927, in Scammon, Kansas, the firstborn of James C. and Helen E. Hisle-Allen.

Jim was drafted into the Army in 1945 and served his country faithfully for 30 years to include service in the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf cluster and Army Commendation Medal. He was also honored to have received his Expert Infantry Badge and Combat Infantry Badge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Elizabeth, and brother Jack.

He is survived by sons Jimmy, Ed, and Joe, all of Tacoma, WA; daughter Ruth Myers, Myrtle Beach, SC; grandson Kurt; brothers Walt, Baxter Springs, KS, Bill, Independence, MO, Tom, Miami, OK, and Fred, Scammon, KS; and sisters Mary Lou Ross, Cotter, AR, Flora Lee Bowen, Melbourne, FL, Alberta Flowers, Satellite Beach, FL, and Carole Sue Thornton, Miami, OK.

Burial was Mar. 29, 2007 at Mountain View Memorial Park, Tacoma, Washington with a full military graveside service honoring Jim's service to his country.
