She was born February 12, 1938 in Lenoir City.
Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church, Dandridge. She was a woman who loved God and her family. Dorothy was a classy lady and took pride in everything she did. She was the most loving grandmother we could have ever asked for and her cooking was second to none.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucky E. Smith, Sr.; son, Guy S. Smith; parents, Alta and Cletis Cooper; and her sisters, Charlotte and Nancy.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Lucky E. Smith, Jr., of California; grandchildren, Caleb Smith, Walker Smith, and Lanaya Smith, all of New Market, TN; and her extended family and friends throughout Tennessee and Colorado.
The family wishes to extend their sincerest appreciation to all the staff at Jefferson City Care and Rehab for their excellent care over the last 7 years. May God bless you for your good work.
The family will receive friends from 5-7pm Tuesday, February 27th with the funeral service to follow at 7 pm at New Market Baptist Church, 921 Churchview St, New Market, TN 37820. Dr. J.W. Taylor and Jeff Harvel will be officiating. Family and friends will meet 2pm Wednesday at Pleasant Grove Piney Church Cemetery for the graveside service and interment.
