Kylie Ranae Udd, age 12, of Arlington, passed away on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, at her home after nearly a year-long battle with brain-stem cancer known as DIPG. Kylie was born in Omaha on August 5, 2005, to Kaycee and Jill. She was the second of four children and dearly loved by her older brother, Carson, 14, and younger siblings, Austin, 8, and Brooklyn, 6.

Kylie, a sixth-grader, was homeschooled. Her favorite subject was history, and she used what she learned to spark imaginative play. She could entertain her brothers and sister for hours playing house, pilgrims, doctor and nurse, and the all-time favorite — pioneers. Kylie also loved art, including drawing, painting, and crafting. One of her favorite places to create was alongside her beloved daddy in his workshop. Each week, Kylie anticipated time spent at sewing class and Awana Club at church.

Those who knew her will always remember her thoughtful, tender heart and gracious, selfless spirit. She loved her siblings dearly and was a huge help to her oldest brother with special needs. At the age of seven, she committed her life to Jesus and was baptized during the summer of 2016. She had a passion for the continent and people of Africa and dreamed of becoming a missionary there one day.

She is survived by her parents, Kaycee and Jill of Arlington; brothers Carson and Austin; sister Brooklyn; grandparents Stan and Vi of Missouri Valley, Iowa, and Dellene of Omaha; great aunt, Bonnie of Sioux Falls, S.D.; aunts and uncles Adam and Ginger of Omaha, NE; Matt and Kelsey of Lincoln; Brianna of Omaha; Kenley and Julie of Mills, NE; Kris and Amy of Nehawka; Nathan and Julie of Missouri Valley, Iowa; numerous cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Kylie was preceded in death by her grandfather, Roger Kamrath.
