Larkin Ferguson dies Thursday

Larkin Ferguson, 69, died suddenly Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in Johnson County Hospital. He resided in Holts Trailer Park in Edinburg.

He was born April 11, 1905, in Edinburg to Harvey and Sarah Jane (DeHart) Ferguson. He was a member of the Baptist Church and a World War II veteran. He retired in 1971 as an Indiana conservation officer.

Funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Raymond Brown at 10 a.m. Monday at Eskew Funeral Home in Edinburg. Burial will be in Nineveh Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Saturday and afternoon Sunday.

Survivors include one daughter, Stella Ferguson of Edinburg; one son, Larkin Edward Ferguson of Chicago; one brother, Roscoe Ferguson of Franklin; and two sisters, Etta Matthews and Elsie Reeves, both of Indianapolis.

I remember the summer my Uncle Larkin had this fawn in his yard. We used to visit my Grandfather his brother Clarence Ferguson in July every summer. We got to play with that animal and had a blast!!
