MeMe was born November 23, 1906 in Baton Rouge. She will be remembered by many in Shreveport as the titled "Mama" of her daughter's "So Good…" cookbooks, which were lovingly dedicated as a tribute to her mother. More than that, she will always be remembered by her family and friends whose lives she touched. To know her was to love her.

Survivors include her daughter, Marlyn White Monette and husband Ed; son Col. (Ret.) Walter Scott White, Jr. and wife Ladye. Grandchildren: Walter Scott White, III and wife Dawn of Tampa, Florida; Navy Commander John Lynn White and wife

Angie of Mansfield, Texas; Debbie Daniel Fralix and husband Randy of Houston, Texas; Donna Daniel Duplichan and husband Lee of Lake Charles; Danny Allen Daniel, Jr. and wife Carol of Baton Rouge; and eleven great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank all the wonderful people at the Glen Retirement Village, where MeMe was one of the first to move in as a resident of the Stiles Apartments in 1986. Special thanks to Dino Durr, Rena Cass, Marie Sessum, Patsy Ross and Helen Simmons for their loving care. Thanks also to the wonderful caregivers at Odyssey Health Care whose special attention made her last days comfortable.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The Glen Retirement Village, 403 E. Flournoy Lucas Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana, 71115, in memory of Mildred Jumel White.
