He is best known for his portrayal of such world figures as Vladimir Lenin and Marshal Georgy Zhukov. After stage experience which included Shakespearean roles, he had many notable film credits such as, "The Chairman", (1964), "The Brothers Karamazov", (1969), "The Flight", (1970), "The Theme", (1979), "The Rifleman of the Voroshilov Regiment", (1999) and "Antikiller", (2002).
