Emma Louise Kincer Hale, 83, of Crockett, died Saturday, July 10, 1999.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 13, at 11 a.m. at the Gillman Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in the Rosenbaum Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
She was the daughter of the late Creed and Nettie Sult Kincer. She was the wife of the late Lee Hale, who she cared for while he was confined to an iron lung for 32 years as a polio victim.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, William Stephen Sheppard and a sister, Edna Houseman Spraker.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Nettie Lee and David Farmer of Crockett and Sue and Dennis Sheppard of Max Meadows; two brothers, Millard and Billy Kincer, both of Wytheville; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hale Memorial Scholarship at Wytheville Community College.
Gillman Funeral Chapel in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
