Mrs. Sparling was born Jan. 18, 1904 near Noble, IL, the daughter of Charles and Louisa Thomann Straley. She married Dr. A. M. Sparling in 1945 and he died in 1947.
Survivors include one sister Mina Payne; one niece, Neva Straley; two nephews, Henry Lee and Chlorus Payne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two infant brothers and another brother.
Funeral services were held at Hosselton Bookhout Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City.
Burial was in Smith Cemetery, rural Clay City. (Sailor Springs area)
