Dorothy Brown Loveday, age 81 of Sevierville, TN passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
Dorothy was married to Charles Loveday for thirty-eight years before his death in 1992.
After raising four children with her husband, she was employed with Smoky Mtn. Knife Works for twenty-five years before retiring.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family.
She grew up attending Jones Chapel Baptist Church, then after her marriage became a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.
Dorothy was a caring, loving and humble woman who always put the needs of others first.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Brown Sr. and Trula Smelcer Brown; brothers, Richard, Mack, Luther, and Lloyd Jr. Brown; sisters, Martha Ramsey, Wilma Colburn, and Mae Bohanan.
She is survived by her sons, Harold, Wayne and Gary (Kristin) Loveday; daughter, Charlene Teffeteller (Matt); grandchildren, Andrea, Alex, Austin (Crystal) Plemons, Charles Teffeteller, Rachel and Lindsay Loveday; adopted granddaughter, Jessica Chance Layman; great-grand daughter, Savannah Plemons; sister, Josie Ann Leatherwood (Eddie); sisters-in-law, Mildred Brown and Viola Brown; brother-in-law, Kenneth Colburn, Sr.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mayford and Manoa Loveday; Aunt, Verniece Branch; Several nieces and nephews and many wonderful friends.
The family wishes to express much gratitude to Dr. Amy Gust, her staff and the U.T. Hospice Unit.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38138.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.
Family and friends will leave Atchley Funeral Home at 9:30 AM Friday in procession to Walnut Grove Cemetery for graveside service and interment with Rev. Curtis Franklin officiating.
