Actress. Born Augusta Margaret Diane Fuller, she was best known for her role as the lethal, beret-wearing robber 'Annie Laurie Starr' in the 1950 film noir classic "Gun Crazy". She also appeared in numerous films during a twenty year career (1940s to 1960s). She started in acting at the age of 12, performing in a stage production of "Alice in Wonderland". Her first film acting role came three years later in the 1940 film "Dr. O'Dowd". She would go on to perform in films in England before being brought to the United States by producer Darryl F. Zanuck in 1945. He wanted her to play 'Amber' in the film "Forever Amber" but was deemed too young and fellow actress Linda Darnell got the role. Five years later, she would get the role that would make her famous in the film "Gun Crazy". In the film, she would play a part of a bank robbing team opposite actor John Dall. She would go back to England after filming "Gun Crazy". Besides "Gun Crazy", her career film credits would include "The Late George Apley" (1947), "Escape" (1948), "Green Grass of Wyoming" (1948), "Meet Mr. Lucifer" (1953), "The Love Lottery", and "Curse of the Demon" (1957). She retired from acting in the mid 1960s with her last role in the television mini-series "Summer Comedy Hour" in 1965.
