Actor. He was a Native American character actor whose best known role was of Shep Proudfoot in the 1996 Oscar-winning film "Fargo." He was a member of the Blackfeet Tribe in northwestern Montana. He attended Haskell Indian Junior College in Lawrence, Kansas where he received a degree in Arts. After college, he left the reservation in Montana to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles. His first movie job came in 1987 as a stunt rider in the film "War Party." His first acting role came the next year in the film "Twins." Besides "Fargo," his other career film credits included "Dances with Wolves" (1990), "The Doors" (1991), "Geronimo: An American Legend" (1993), "Wild Bill" (1995), "The Outfitters" (1999), "The Missing" (2003), "The Longest Yard" (2005), and "Road to Paloma" (2014). He also appeared in numerous television series during his career with such credits as "Promised Land," "JAG," "Walker, Texas Ranger," "Line of Fire," "Malcolm in the Middle," and "Bones." He received a FAITA (First American in the Arts) award in 1996 for his role in "Fargo."
